My Instruments

I am a lute maker devoted to the art of crafting instruments that blend historical authenticity with modern playability.

Over the years, I have studied and researched original instruments in museums and collections across the world, examining their construction techniques, design, materials, and sound. This deep engagement with historical sources informs every instrument I build.

Each lute is unique and individually handcrafted using traditional methods and carefully selected materials, resulting in instruments that are both visually elegant and musically expressive.

My goal is to create lutes inspired by a close dialogue between scholarship and craftsmanship, recreating the original instruments of the renaissance and baroque periods while inspiring today’s performers.

Orders and prices.

I am based in Edinburgh, Scotland, where instruments can bee seen and tried in person.

The listed prices are indicative of the basic models (allways using top-quallity materials). The actual price of each instrument is determined with the client based on individual bespoke specifications.

A non-refundable deposit of £1000 is required for any order. The remaining balance is due upon delivery, or collection. Most customers prefer to collect instruments personally, and this is the best and safest method.  If an instrument has to be sent by courier, all related expenses (packaging, carriage, insurance, customs/import taxes, etc.) will be paid by the customer.

Payments by direct bank transfer (wire transfer) only. Please note that all bank charges associated with the transfer must be covered by the customer. Customers are also responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or VAT applicable in their own country.

All instruments have a life-time warranty against defects, and problems derived from normal ageing of the materials. Accidents and damage incurred due to instruments kept under poor conditions are not covered.
